When should I put a swimsuit on my baby?  First swims (and all the ones after) are full of joy, but it’s important to take precautions. Paediatricians generally recommend waiting until your baby is at least 4 months old—and has received their first two vaccine doses—before putting them in a swimsuit.  As for water time, start gradually. Begin with short 10-minute dips, and slowly increase the time without exceeding 30 minutes. Babies can get cold quickly, so a heated swimming pool is often better than the sea until about one year of age.  That said, your baby can still enjoy time on the beach towel—playing, exploring, and watching the waves.
